I started off with a transcend 2gb card and it worked perfectly in both my cpu and phone, except I couldnt fit all my music.

So I got a 4gb trascend card today and it was formated and worked in my phone but my Dell Precision m90 laptop doesnt do anything when I put it in.

Anybody got any tricks

Is the card miniSDHC or just miniSD?

I ask because you have either one of two problems.

1. The miniSD as well as the SD spec only go up to 2gb, larger cards are technically not supported by the spec, so the few that are larger and out in the wild may not be supported by all devices, and there is no way of knowing if they will or not.

2. The SDHC and the miniSDHC specs state they will support up to 32gb. If the card is an miniSDHC, then you would need a reader capable of reading SDHC(they will list this).

If you have an out-of-spec miniSD, then you could ask around to see if anyone knows what readers will work with it. If you have a miniSDHC card, you just need to find an SDHC capable reader. Or, use one of the programs that can use your Treo like a card reader.

Its SDHC and the 2GB wasnt. I am confident this is the prob

1. So what your saying is my phone reads SDHC but not my laptop right?

2. Should I just buy a non SDHC 4GB card or buy a reader?

3. Anybody have a non SDHC 4GB mini SD working with their 755P? What kind? and where did you get it?

1. Yes.
2. I'd say get a reader, eventually you might want a larger card for your Treo or something else, and SD and miniSD are being phased out in favor of SDHC.

What about Card export II? Can you read your SDHC card with that? If not then most likely just get an SDHC reader as well.

Card Reader is worth every penny I paid for it:

You NEVER have to take your mini-sd card out of the phone!!!

Opps, yeah thats the one. I wonder where I got Card export II from >.< I agree it is great and be awesome if this will let you access your SDHC card on your computer without an SDHC card reader. :D

I agree.

I purchased Card Reader and it worked like a charm. Transferred about 3.5gb of music over to my card in about 50 minutes.

Unfortunately many of the USB SD Card readers don't actually list SDHC yet they may very well support it. My USB SD card reader didn't list SDHC, but it seems to work just fine. Hopefully as more SDHC cards become common, vendors will be explicit about listing support in their specs.

Card Export II or Card Reader are a viable option, but since data is transferred through the Treo's sync port (at serial port speeds), they are verrryyyy slow. What takes 50 minutes to transfer via the sync cable takes 5 minutes via a USB 2.0 card reader.

I haven't notice much speed difference at all....

I've got the same problem with my Mac. My SanDisk X-in-1 reader reads everything but the Transcend mini SDHC 4GB miniSD, even with an SD adapter.

The only way I can mount it is with the Missing Sync app on the Treo, which talks to Missing Sync on the Mac. I can do transfers/backups, but they're very slow.

Who makes the best X-in-1 reader that can handle miniSDHC too?
